1. The first and the only one in Taiwan: The Division of Latin American Studies is the first of its kind in Taiwan, and is also the only one specialized in Latin American Studies, this carries a great significance and academic importance.
2. We use the Spanish Languages as a key: We demand our students to be knowledgeable in Foreign Languages and Specialize Sciences, this way our students will upgrade their competitiveness.
3. We grant equal importance to Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Politics and Economics: The subjects are grouped in the three areas of Humanities-Social Sciences, Law-Politics, and Economics-Trade, which offers an integral vision of the Latin American studies.
4. We foster international academic exchanges: Our professors participate actively in international academic congresses, and share their research and findings with experts worldwide.
5. We strive to further develop international academic cooperation: We have four sister universities in Latin America that maintain interchanges with our institute, we sent every year students of the second year to Autonomous University of the State of Mexico to study there a semester, and in addition we offer opportunities to all the students to participate in international academic events.

We put together theory and practice: Our teaching is very active and rich, our students can take credits abroad, they do not only participate in academic research, but also develop other strengths while organizing or participating in academic activities, this way the are better prepared to face their future professional work.
